Skimming the Bottom on the Sandusky River

During the walleye run we have two great rivers that bring in some giant walleye – Maumee River and Sandusky River. Dennis Lincoln spends many hours hitting the Sandusky River and has provided a couple tips specifically for that tributary. Lincoln says, “When reeling in your lead jig keep rod tip low and close to river. This technique keeps the jig close to bottom and this is how he manages the technique. Skim the bottom of the river. Walleye are hugging bottom of river and this is the way to be in the walleye strike zone.” Most time fisherman on the Sandusky River is using lead. This is because the Sandusky River does not have the flow like the Maumee River.
