Right here at the Maumee River Walleye Run we are fully supporting the Boy Scouts of America. If you didn’t know…and how would you… Jeff Miller (my brother and the other voice on the Maumee River Walleye Run Podcast) dedicates a huge amount of his time to the Boy Scouts. He loves teaching both survival skills and lessons to scouts that they will carry with them for their entire life. Furthermore, both of his boys have received the highest ranking as Eagle Scout. That being said, the Maumee River Walleye Run crew will be running the Fishing Booth at the Camp Miakonda 100th Birthday Party. Make sure to come to the event and stop by the fishing section. We’ll be teaching kids how to fish whether it’s a walleye from the Maumee River or a bluegill from a farm pond. We got you covered.

Camp Miakonda is 100 years old, and they are inviting YOU to celebrate it. Tour Camp Miakonda with your families, and let us show you the history of our first 100 years on Saturday, May 20th.  This open house style event showcases our historic Boy Scout Camp from 9 AM to 4PM. All areas will be open for tours and activities, including the Adirondacks, the COPE course, the Ford Center, our Museums, including the oldest Boy Scout building, the Council Lodge, all cabins, the fishing dock…. Let them show you the history of our first 100 years, and the plans for our future.

Find out what Camp Miakonda and Scouting have to offer the youth of Northwest Ohio and your family! Birthday cupcakes and a special 100th Anniversary Patch for the first 1000 people.
